Accessibility Statement

November 2025

The Wolfville Social Club (“the Club,” “we,” “our,” “us”) is committed to creating welcoming, inclusive, and accessible spaces for all members of our community. We recognize that true accessibility extends beyond physical access and includes representation, respect, and equitable participation in cultural life.

1. Land and Community Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that the work of the Wolfville Social Club takes place in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. We recognize the enduring presence of the Mi’kmaq and their stewardship of this land, and we honour the Treaties of Peace and Friendship, which remind us of our responsibilities to one another. This awareness informs our ongoing effort to build relationships rooted in respect, learning, and collaboration with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

2. Commitment to Accessibility

The Club strives to ensure that our performances, events, and programs are as accessible as possible for people of all abilities.
We are committed to:

  • Providing venues with physical accessibility features wherever possible (including ramps, accessible washrooms, and seating options).

  • Offering clear, inclusive communication through multiple formats and channels.

  • Providing accommodations upon request for participants, performers, and patrons.

  • Reviewing our practices regularly to identify and reduce barriers to participation.

3. Inclusion of People of Difference

We believe that art and community are strengthened by diversity. The Wolfville Social Club actively welcomes and seeks participation from people of all backgrounds, including those identifying as newcomers, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+, living with disabilities, neurodivergent, or from underrepresented communities. We aim to reflect the full spectrum of experience in our programming, creative processes, and audience engagement, ensuring that everyone feels valued and seen.

4. Ongoing Learning and Accountability

Accessibility and inclusion are continuous practices. We are committed to ongoing reflection, consultation, and training to improve our understanding of equity, inclusion, and cultural competency. Feedback from community members, artists, and audience participants is always welcome and helps guide our progress.
